Riccardo Gagliardi was born in Grosseto (Italy) in 1997.
His parents were both pianists, but only at the age of 15 years (2012) he received from his father, Alessandro Gagliardi, who is a teacher at the "Morlacchi" Music Academy in Perugia, his first piano lessons. He also had private lessons with Prof. Piernarciso Masi in Siena.
Between 2014 and 2016 he played in a piano duo with Marianna Tongiorgi and at the same time as soloist in many important cities in Italy (Florence, Pistoia, Neapel, Catania, Livorno, Rom, Capri, etc...)
From 2014 he started studying at the International Academy "Incontri col Maestro" of Imola with Prof. Marco Boni, conductor of the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, to attend the three-year orchestra management course, and he founded the chamber orchestra "Amadeus" in Grosseto (2014/2015).
Since October 2016 Riccardo is studying with Prof. Margarita Höhenrieder-Dornier at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where he performs as a soloist (Orlandosaal-Germering, SteinwayHaus-Munich...) and in chamber music formations.
He graduated in July 2020 with the best note (1.0) and started in Munich the Master degree.
He played as a soloist in many important Festivals and with many orchestras in Europe (Bacau Philarmonic “Mihail Jora”, String Orchestra Aachen, Händel Orchestra in Piombino (Italy), Estrorchestra in Livorno, Gubbio Chamber Orchestra etc.).
He was first prize winner at the Lagny-Sur-Marne International Competition 2018 (Paris), second prize winner at the MozARTe International Piano Competition 2019 (Aachen), three times Winner (4th prize, 2nd prize and 1st prize + prize for the best interpretation of a classic sonata) at the International Competition "San Dona di Piave" 2018, 2019 and 2021 (Venice), Third prize at Arald Genzmer International Piano Competition 2018 (Munich), two times first prize winner of the "Città di Piove di Sacco" competition 2019, second prize winner of the international piano competition "Premio Sergio Cafaro" 2020 (Rom), first prize at the “Amigdala International Piano Competition”, first prize at the “Città di Riccione National Piano Competition”, special jury prize at the Youth of Music International Competition 2021 (Bucharest), first prize at the “Massarosa International Piano Competition”, third prize at the “Delia Steinberg Piano Competition” (Madrid).
He took masterclasses with the famous pianists Andras Schiff, Ingo Dannhorn and Johan Schmid.
Since 2022 he is the pianist of the Michelangeli Piano Trio.
